Understand the estimate
Your monthly contribution builds principal; illustrative compounding adds hypothetical growth over time. R1,000 each month for five years means contributing R60,000 before any investment returns.
Make it more accurate
A higher assumed growth rate produces a larger projection but also adds uncertainty; real returns can vary or be negative.
These figures are examples based on editable inputs. They do not represent verified current rates, supplier prices or quotes.
What compounding adds โ and what it cannot promise
There are two engines behind a savings projection: your own contributions and hypothetical growth. The calculator shows both separately so you can see how much of the future balance depends on your habit, and how much depends on the assumed rate. Contributions are modelled at the end of each month.
Before relying on the estimate
A useful experiment is to compare the result at 0%, 3% and 6%. The spread shows how sensitive the final figure is to the assumption, rather than giving false confidence in a single forecast.
