๐ŸŠ Pool pump ยท South Africa

How many days can I run my pool pump with this budget?

Start with an amount in rands. See what it could get you, then adjust the assumptions only if you want a more detailed answer.

How it works

Understand the estimate

Daily kWh equals pump kW multiplied by hours pumped per day. Divide budget by (daily kWh ร— electricity tariff) to estimate the number of days.

Make it more accurate

Reducing runtime or speed can change usage considerably; follow pool manufacturer and water-quality guidance.

These figures are examples based on editable inputs. They do not represent verified current rates, supplier prices or quotes.

A pool pump budget is mostly a time budget

This tool turns an allocated amount into days of operation at an assumed power draw and hours per day. Larger motors do not always mean proportionately better circulation, and a variable-speed pump can consume less power when run slower.

Try the numbers: At 0.75 kW, five hours per day and R3/kWh, the pump uses 3.75 kWh daily and costs R11.25 a day. A R450 budget would last around 40 days under those assumptions.

Before relying on the estimate

Your actual duty cycle should follow the pool size, pump and filtration needs. Running the pump for fewer hours without understanding water quality may be a false economy.
